WHY LEISURE POOLS SA DO ONLY PRE-MOULDED FIBREGLASS SWIMMING POOLS

Using Fibreglass Composites can be manufactured up to 17 times stronger than concrete with a flexibility strength. the correct production methods we at Leisure Pools have been able to be on the cutting edge of technology.

A Fibreglass pool is more cost effective, easier to clean and maintain and therefore more hygienic. This is because the gelcoat is a smooth product that leaves no room for bacteria to grow, or take hold. Automatic pool cleaners and salt chlorinators can be fitted to your Leisure Pool making it even more hassle free for LEISURE living.

Your decision to invest your well-earned money in a swimming pool needs to be done with a clear knowledge of the product you are purchasing. Not all fibreglass pre-moulded swimming pool companies manufacture the way that is recommended by the leading material suppliers to the pool industry. It is imperative to know what you are investing your money in, and to know why a pool needs to be manufactured in a specific way. Leisure Pools SA has set a standard that has been based off the leading fibreglass pre-moulded pool manufacturing in the world.

Below is a diagram of the layers that you can expect when you purchase a Leisure, fibreglass swimming pool.

1. MOULD

Leisure Pools inspect their moulds and ensure that they are prepared to a gloss finish. This gives a magnificent smooth finish on the interior of the swimming pool. The surface of the mould needs to be correct as the product will be a mirror-image of the mould. The reason why maintenance on a Leisure Pool is far easier and cost-effective is due to meticulous care in the preparation of the mould.

2. SPRAY GELCOATS
Both the standard blue and the Specklecoat gelcoats are 100% ISO NPG which are applied as a one-coat application by the most advanced application equipment on the market today. These ISO NPG gelcoats have outstanding UV properties and are scientifically formulated for problem-free results. It is important to understand that the gelcoats have to be ISO NPG and not just a standard gelcoat.

3. SPRAY BARRIER COAT
Leisure Pools SA apply a barriercoat behind the gelcoat, to remove any print-through from the laminate onto the gelcoat surface, and, far more importantly, it gives protection against blistering and osmosis that is experienced when water reacts with the fibreglass laminate behind the gelcoat. This occurs when fibreglass swimming pools are manufactured with inferior raw material. This 100% vinyl barriercoat is applied with the most advanced application equipment on the market today, and safeguards your pool, as well as being an important requirement if you want a pool that can live up to its guarantee.

4. FIBREGLASS APPLICATION SPRAY
The manufactured laminate of a Leisure Pool is done with the highest technological equipment in the market. The chopper gun application controls thickness variation and the catalyst input. The catalyst percentage is critical in the performance of the product. Using this technology for our reinforcements gives us incredible strength and chemical resistance. Our pools are transported around South Africa and exported abroad. Our strength has been tested both outside as well as in the ground.

5. EXTERNAL SURFACE SEALER
This surface flocoat application is an aesthetic coat which also helps to prevent reverse penetration from the chemical in the soil on the outside of the fibreglass swimming pool.
